Symptom / Need

Are you a business partner or technical administrator and need to configure or update inbound trunks from scratch, as well as register the telephone numbers (DIDs) assigned to your operation to enable customer call reception and ensure that traffic is correctly routed to your switch or IVR flows?

Context / Scenarios

This administration is carried out directly within the Partner Portal using two complementary self-management modules: Trunk Configuration for the initial SIP link, and the DNIS Inventory and Configuration module ( DNIS config ) to manage the concurrent channels of each assigned number.

Answer / Solution

Minimum information required

  • The name of the operation to be intervened.
  • The type of incoming telephone provider (whether it is Wolkvox or an external "A1" provider).
  • The proxy address ( IP or domain ) and carrier authentication data (if required).
  • The list of contracted public telephone numbers ( DIDs ).

Configuration flow

To enable and configure incoming telephony, you must perform the following steps within your portal:

Step 1: Creating the Inbound Trunk

  1. Enter the Trunks module within the Trunk Configuration section in the Partner Portal and select the required operation.
  2. Click on the gray " Create Trunk" button located at the top of the screen.
  3. Select the input option that corresponds to the telephony scheme of the operation to be configured:
  • Wolkvox inbound: If the link and numbering are provided directly by Wolkvox.
  • A1 inbound: If the inbound trunk comes from an external carrier owned by the customer (external provider).
  1. Complete the form with the technical information for the SIP protocol:
  • Name : Assign a descriptive and clear identifier for the trunk.
  • Authentication : This security layer requires you to enter your security credentials (username and password) only if the service provider carrier requires it to validate the registration.
  • Proxy: Enter the public IP address or peer domain assigned by the carrier to establish communication.
  • Codec : Select the audio compression format to use.

💡 Performance recommendation: It is suggested to select the G.711 codec, as it is the most robust industry standard for voice handling, and can guarantee excellent quality by reducing encoding and decoding processes on servers.

  1. Click Save .

Step 2: DID Capacity Inventory and Configuration

Once the inbound trunk has been created, it is mandatory to configure the inbound numbers (DIDs) to channel traffic towards the operation:

  1. Go to the DNIS Inventory and Configuration module ( Dnis config ).
  2. In the main list, view and filter by phone number or server to locate the DID assigned to the operation. Here you can review the associated trunk name, connection server , concurrency limit , and traffic description .
  3. To modify the capacity of a number, click on the edit button (the only modifiable parameter in this section is simultaneity):
  • Simultaneous call limit: Adjust the number of concurrent channels according to the number of agents and expected traffic of the operation. The default initial configuration is 2 concurrent channels .
  • Click Save .

Recommendations

  • ⚠️ Critical Capacity Increases : If you need to configure an increase in concurrent traffic to more than 20 channels on a DID, it is strongly recommended to verify beforehand with the numbering provider (whether Wolkvox or the external carrier) that the actual technical capacity of the trunk line is available. This ensures that the server can handle the expected traffic volume and prevents blocking or interruptions on the contact channels.
  • Perform cross-testing of calls from external mobile or landline phones to your DIDs to verify that the flow enters correctly before launching the operation into production.
