Learn how to easily register and authorize a public IP address in your firewall from the Partner Portal.
Table of Contents
Symptom / Need
Are you a business partner or operations manager and need to enable secure access to the platform for your agents (on-site or remote), supervisors, VDI environments, or allow the autonomous consumption of APIs and automation integrations by adding their public IP addresses to the Firewall security whitelist?
Context / Scenarios
This procedure is managed directly from the IP to Firewall module (Whitelists) within the Partner Portal self-management console, allowing you to register or revoke access in real time to prevent the platform from rejecting the connection because it comes from an unauthorized network.
Answer / Solution
Minimum information required
- The name of the operation to be managed.
- The public IP address for browsing that you wish to authorize.
Configuration flow
To manage and authorize access to the operation's firewall autonomously, the administrator must perform the following actions:
Step 1: Quick search for authorized IPs
- Access the IP to Firewall module within the Partner Portal and select the operation you need to work on.
- The system will load the active list of all public IP addresses currently authorized for that operation.
- If you need to check if a specific record already has the necessary permissions, go to the search bar located in the upper right corner; by typing the IP address, a quick filter will be performed in the table.
Step 2: Registering a new public IP address
Step 3: Debugging and removing obsolete access
- Within the list of enabled IPs, you will also have the option to delete records.
- Periodically check the active list on your self-service portal.
- To revoke permissions for a network that is no longer in use, locate the corresponding IP address in the list and click on the delete record option.
Recommendations
- ⚠️ Principle of least privilege: It is recommended to periodically clean up the IPs registered in the firewall. Likewise, only enable those addresses strictly necessary for the business in order to avoid vulnerabilities and close potential security gaps.
- For agents working remotely with dynamic, changing IP addresses, it is suggested to evaluate the use of corporate VPNs to channel all user traffic through a single fixed corporate public IP address, avoiding the need to constantly reconfigure access on the portal.
